There are lots of great reasons to play baritone or euphonium.

  • They make a beautiful, soothing sound. (Euphonium gets its name from the Greek, euphonos, which means "well sounding" and "sweet-voiced".
  • Baritones and euphoniums are needed in lots of music groups, from concert bands to marching bands to military bands to brass ensembles.
  • Their unusually large range makes them suitable for everything from solos to harmonies to foundation bass.
  • Baritone and euphonium aren't difficult to learn.  You can be as good as you want to be.
  • They play much like the other brass instruments, so once you can play baritone or euphonium you can easily learn tuba, trumpet, valve trombone, and other instruments.
