Play It Again Memphis
Play It Again's mission is to promote music participation among youth by removing barriers and providing encouragement and resources.
Play your part...donate your musical instrument to Play It Again Memphis.
That instrument will bring joy and music into this world once again when we refurbish it and place it in the hands of area youth who want to play but cannot afford to purchase or rent an instrument.
Since the founding of Play It Again Memphis, more than 600 instruments have been collected and approximately 400 have been distributed. Collected instruments that are not repairable are sold to antique dealers for cash that is later used to buy more instruments. The program's success was made possible by the combined efforts of Mayor Jim Rout and Charlie Ryan, Ticketmaster-Tennessee General Manager.
The key goal of the program is to enable students to participate in the enriching music activities, both in school and after school, through individual and school band programs. A second goal of the program is to coordinate with music education programs so that instrument needs are matched with organized instructional programs.
