Suzuki Piano Materials
The Suzuki Piano Method differs from other piano methods in that it focuses on learning to play by ear first, then picking up theory and sight reading later. The Suzuki program also includes supplements, such as the writings of Dr. Suzuki, which parents are required to read as part of the program. Parents are also required to purchase recordings of each method book to enhance practice time at home. These recordings are available in the print music department, in CD format only. Some Suzuki CDs will have more than one option for purchasing, as there are multiple performers who have recorded the material in each level. While the songs are the same, the formats will differ slightly, and there are many teachers who require a specific performer. So be sure to ask if there is a preference!
