Finding Job Openings

Your rep and Amro have regular contact with virtually every school in the Mid-South area that has a band program. As a result Amro is a natural center for information concerning band job openings.

Amro keeps extensive information on both available teaching positions and directors who are available to fill them. Usually the information that Amro has access to includes not only schools that have announced an opening, but also schools where the director might leave if other events take place. In some cases a director will confide in us that he or she is going to leave, but we aren't free to tell anyone else or to send candidates until the director gives us the OK.

This information can be of great help to you if you decide to consider other teaching positions. When you need a new assistant, you'll find the information on available directors helpful.

Principals, superintendents, and band directors know that Amro keeps this information. As a result when a job comes open, many of them call Amro to see who is available to fill the position. After dealing with Mid-South bands for over seventy-five years, we've developed a friendship with many principals and superintendents, and they've come to trust our recommendations of candidates. Many call us to ask our opinions of a candidate or for additional background on candidates who have applied.

In schools where we have a strong relationship with a principal or superintendent, we can not only tell you about the opening and get you in contact with the right people, but can also put in a helpful recommendation.
