Famous Amro Customers

Hardly a day goes by that someone doesn't say "I got my first instrument at Amro."  Many can remember the day as clear as yesterday, and often remember who helped them.  Getting a musical instrument is a memorable event—something that changes lives. 

Local sax great, Lanny McMillan, said, "Can you imagine all the great musicians Amro has helped start?  It's impossible to imagine what Memphis Music would be without Amro Music's influence."

We can't recall all the famous musicians we've helped through the years, but here are a few (not always with a first instrument, but somehow in their musical endeavors):

Elvis Presley Elvis purchased a Gibson Guitar in 1967 He also borrowed Amro's Steinway concert grand to record  live at Graceland—you can still hear it today in the great recordings he left us.

John Mayer During a 2004 tour, John purchased an alto saxophone at Amro. Maybe you've  heard it in his songs.

Ben Folds The singer/songwriter/pianist purchased a Steinway piano in 2007.
