Band Director's Resource Guide

Thanks for your confidence in making Amro Music your band's music store.  We recognize what an important decision that is for both you and your band and we promise to live up to the trust you've placed in us.

We believe our relationship together should be more than a convenient business association and friendship; it should be an important partnership toward success that works to the benefit of everyone involved — you, us, your students, their parents and the band.

As in all partnerships each of us will provide something that is valued by the other partner.  As your music store we'll provide: a rental program that makes it possible and inviting for beginners to try band; fast and reliable repairs; quick availability of supplies; good quality instruments on attractive plans; a knowledgeable and helpful representative; and other services and conveniences to the operation of your band.

On the other side of the partnership, you are providing to your representative and those who support him from the store, a livelihood — the means by which they pay their expenses and support their families.    In many ways your goals as band director and our goals as your music store are the same.  Both of us would like to start a large group of beginners, and turn those beginners into successful members of the band.  Both of us want to get the band's repairs done as quickly as possible, and get music and supplies to the band as soon as it needs them.  We both want to arrange for advanced band students to play on good quality instruments appropriate to their abilities.  And both of us want the band to perform well, be recognized for their quality and achievements, and enjoy the respect and support of students, parents, administrators, and the community.

By forming a partnership that combines each of our special talents and abilities and working together, we increase the probability of achieving these things.

Partnerships are most effective when each partner has a clear understanding of everyone's roles in the relationship.  In order to bring our partnership quickly up to its full potential and effectiveness, we've put this guide together.  It explains how a school band and a music store operate together, what your representative and the music store can do for you and your program, and how you can be a good partner in the relationship.

We're pleased that you've chosen us as a partner.  Working together we'll do things that we couldn't do individually, and everyone will benefit from our relationship.

Sincerely,

Chip Averwater
