"Couldn't I buy a 'cheap' instrument from someone else?"
This is a question that we are commonly asked. The answer is possibly, but be careful. Many instruments are not appropriate for school music programs. Others are in need of costly repairs. If you buy and repair a used instrument and your child drops out of band, you're stuck with an instrument. A playable instrument is essential to your child's success in music. The initial months are the most crucial. Take care not to start your child with an inappropriate or hard-to-play instrument.
